Dr. Tim Wright

Optometrist

Dr. Tim Wright graduated from The University of Houston, College of Optometry with the highest possible honors. While in school, he was recognized by his fellow classmates and voted Most Outstanding Student. At graduation, the faculty voted him the Most Outstanding Clinician. Since then, he has been voted as the Most Outstanding Optometrist by the citizens in Collin County.

Prior to his career in optometry, Dr. Wright graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. While there, he was invited into membership in both honor societies for engineering. Upon graduation, he was invited to perform top secret research & development for the U.S. Navy while working at General Dynamics in Fort Worth, Texas for six years.

Dr. Wright is certified and licensed as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist and as a Therapeutic Optometrist by the State of Texas. These certifications are the most advanced designations for the profession in the State of Texas. This allows him to diagnose and treat conditions of the eyes employing the use of oral and topical medications and perform exams for glasses and contact lenses.

Dr. Wright has served on the Board of Directors for the Southwest Contact Lens Society, a continuing education seminar whose profit was invested into clinical research grants.

To stay current in his field, he attends many hours of workshops, symposiums and meetings so patients can benefit from the newest techniques. During your visit, you may see one of the many interns that Dr. Wright oversees in his role as Adjunct Associate Professor with The University of Houston, College of Optometry.
